Year 1 Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Location: Primary School near Wimbledon

Contract Type: Maternity Cover - Summer Term only

Salary: Paid to Scale (Outer London)

We are seeking a Year 1 Teacher to join our lovely three form entry primary near Wimbledon. This role is a maternity cover for the summer term starting in April. Teachers with KS1 teaching experience are warmly welcomed to apply. ECTs who have done teaching placements in Year 1 are also welcome to apply.

There is the possibility of this role being part-time/ job share. If you are specifically looking for a part-time teaching role for the summer term, please mention this to Richard when discussing the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to Year 1 students, following the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Create a nurturing and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, exploration, and a love for learning.
  • Work collaboratively with your fellow Year 1 teacher to plan and implement a well-rounded curriculum that meets the diverse needs of students.
  • Establish effective communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on students' progress and achievements.
  • Foster a safe and stimulating learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic development.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong understanding and experience of working with the KS1 curriculum
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and a genuine passion for the well-being and development of young learners
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators
  • ECTs (Early Career Teachers) and experienced teachers are welcome to apply
