Here at ASQ Education, we aim to find the best School Support Staff available and help them find the role that will allow them to flourish. We are currently looking to recruit SEND Teaching Assistants to support & assist the SEND Department of an outstanding secondary school in South London.

Preferably, the school are looking for candidates with experience working within a SEND department or who has relative experience working with children who have mild to severe learning differences. The school are also open to graduates who have open to the possibility of training to become teachers.

The role is currently open, and the school will accept candidates looking to start now or in September. The position will run until the end of the next academic year (2023). The school would prefer graduates who are looking to start their journey into education from September.

 

The Role

In the role of a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to support your pupils throughout the school day. Under the direction of the SENCO, the school are eager to support their Teaching Assistants in delivering outstanding support to their key students. The team you will be working with are supported by trained professionals who will support you throughout the day.

The team would like someone who is grounded & dependable as well as proactive in your approach. You will be expected to support both the teaching and support staff effectively, as well as co-operating with parents or carers, students, and external agencies to ensure safeguarding laws are always adhered to.

As such, anyone with a background centred around working within a SEND team as well as a recognised ability to support children and young people to improve their learning will be highly regarded.

 

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in working with children who have SEND (Essential)
  • The capacity to form honest working relationships with students, parents or carers and colleagues alike
  • You must have good oral and written communicative skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • To be adaptable and flexible and show that you have a patient and caring approach to the work you do
  • To understand that you must be a leading role model for students and colleagues
  • This is a secondary school with outstanding professional development
  • A job that makes you feel good! This role is for those who wish to finish every day feeling as though they have made a real difference to the local community
