Position title
SEN Teaching Assistant - Kensington and Chelsea
Description

Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to become a valued member of a professional and supportive team in a welcoming, inclusive three-form entry primary school located in Kensington and Chelsea. Starting as soon as possible, this is a full academic year contract running until July, term time only.

The role

As a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working within one of the school’s specialist SEND hubs, supporting multiple children with profound and complex learning needs. The role is both rewarding and dynamic, offering the chance to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.

You will support children across the full primary age range, from EYFS (Nursery–Reception) through to Key Stage 2, depending on the needs of the school. This may include working with pupils with a variety of complex learning needs. A key aspect of the role includes providing personal care and feeding support, so candidates must be comfortable with intimate care responsibilities.

You will work closely with a friendly and experienced team to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that enables pupils to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

The ideal candidate

The school believes the quality of support staff is essential to pupil success and is therefore seeking someone who demonstrates the following:

  • Experience working with children with profound learning needs (preferred but not essential)

  • Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with children and adults

  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children’s development

  • Willingness to assist with intimate care and feeding

  • Passion for inclusive education and supporting children with SEND

The school

Located in Kensington and Chelsea, this is a vibrant and inclusive primary school in a sought-after area. The school is proud of its nurturing ethos and strong commitment to supporting both pupils and staff.

Staff are encouraged to take part in decision-making and professional development opportunities, and the school places a strong emphasis on teamwork, wellbeing, and continuous learning.

Pupils are enthusiastic, well-behaved, and feel safe and cared for. The school is proud of its SEND provision and is looking for a suitably dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant who can contribute positively to the team and help pupils reach their full potential.
