Position title
Secondary English Teacher
Description

We are seeking a passionate and resilient KS3/4 English Teacher to join a successful and inclusive alternative provision in West London, starting September 2025

The role

As an English Teacher in this trauma-informed alternative provision, you will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students aged 11 to 16, many of whom face significant barriers to learning due to complex emotional and behavioural needs. You will work closely with a small team of dedicated staff to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where connection precedes correction. Class sizes are small, with a maximum of seven students and two to three adults per class, allowing for meaningful relationships and impactful teaching. Your ability to inspire, support, and challenge students will be key to helping them rediscover their confidence and love for learning.

Essential: Must have a motor vehicle and in possession of a clean drivers' license

The ideal English Teacher will:

  • Have experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4, ideally within an SEN or alternative provision setting
  • Be confident managing challenging behaviour and building trust with students who have experienced trauma, exclusion, or adverse childhood experiences
  • Be committed to inclusive education and the school’s ethos of healing through connection
  • Be adaptable, creative, and emotionally intelligent
  • Have excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and families
  • Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualification

The school

Located in West London, this provision is deeply committed to supporting vulnerable learners through a trauma-informed approach. The leadership team prioritises staff wellbeing and professional development, offering ongoing training and career progression opportunities. The school fosters a culture of kindness, patience, and high expectations, where every child is seen, heard, and valued.
