We at ASQ Education are looking to recruit an ICT Teacher to work as part of an exceptional IT Department in an Ofsted Outstanding School located in the London Borough of Sutton. The role is due to start immediately and will run throughout the next academic year. The school would also take on the right individual permanently, depending on their suitability.
You will be working inside a terrific school that has an extremely supportive Senior Leadership Team. The IT Department is modern in design. It has three IT Rooms, each with thirty-one workstations. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard and a network-connected printer. The IT Team are also always on hand to assist if needed.
From Key Stage Three, the pupils will cover a range of topics that offer the opportunity to acquire confidence, capability, and critical ICT-related skills. Years 7 and 8 are taught for a minimum of 1 hour every fortnight, while year 9 are taught for 1 hour every week.
At Key Stage Four, the schools offer the option of an Edexcel BTEC Tech Award in Digital Information Technology. This is a course designed to develop one’s skills and gain an understanding of data management, data interpretation, data presentation and protection, and more. At Key Stage Five, the schools offer the Edexcel BTEC Level Three in ICT.
The Ideal Candidate
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Previous experience of teaching ICT successfully at a school teaching the National Curriculum
- Expert subject knowledge and passion to teach ICT
- You must understand you have to be flexible, resilient, and own excellent organisation skills
- The ability to be a strong team player
- You must have a strong mindset and understanding of the National Curriculum regarding ICT
- You must own QTS and, at least, a BA or MA Degree in IT or a relevant subject
- The school would prefer a good communicator who can enthuse & inspire pupils and colleagues alike
- The school would prefer a candidate who is able to bring exciting ideas and plans on how to develop the subject further
