Position title
Art & Design Technology Teacher
Description

We are seeking a creative and compassionate Art & Design Technology Teacher to join a successful and inclusive alternative provision in West London, commencing in September 2025.

The Role

As an Art & Design Technology Teacher in this trauma-informed setting, you will deliver engaging, hands-on lessons to students aged 11 to 16, many of whom have experienced exclusion or are at serious risk of exclusion. You will work with small groups—no more than seven students per class, supported by two to three adults—to foster creativity, confidence, and emotional expression through practical projects. Your lessons will be a vital outlet for students to explore identity, build resilience, and develop transferable skills. The provision prioritises connection before correction, and your ability to build trust and inspire will be central to your success.

The Ideal Art & Design Technology Teacher Will:

  • Have experience teaching Art and/or Design Technology, ideally in a SEN or alternative provision setting
  • Be confident managing challenging behaviour and supporting students with ASD, ADHD, and attachment difficulties
  • Be passionate about inclusive, trauma-informed education
  • Be flexible, patient, and able to adapt lessons to meet diverse needs
  • Be a strong communicator and team player
  • Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualification

The School

Located in West London, this provision is dedicated to supporting vulnerable learners through a trauma-informed approach. The leadership team is committed to staff development and wellbeing, offering ongoing training and career progression. The school fosters a nurturing, creative, and high-expectation environment where every child is supported to thrive.
